Itinerary
Welcome to Morocco! Your 5 Days Morocco tour from Fes starts from the International Airport of Fes or your Accommodation. An experienced driver guide will greet you and accompany you for the whole trip. From Fes we depart early in the morning for Ifrane, a city renowned for its architecture and temperate temperature and situated amidst the Middle Atlas Mountains. We then proceed to Azrou’s cedar forest, which is home to Barbary macaques. We’ll stop briefly here to take some entertaining pictures with these amiable animals. After having some free time for lunch in Midelt, we’ll take in breathtaking panoramic views of the palm palms as we drive into the Ziz valley. From there, we travel to the Sahara Desert via the town of Erfoud, which is rich in fossils.
A sea of sand dunes extends as far as the eye can see as soon as we reach Merzouga. You’ll transition to camels and start an unforgettable journey of nomadic living. There will be a stop along the route to scale a tall dune and take in the breathtaking sunset. A cup of mint tea will be served to you as a sign of hospitality when you arrive at your desert camp. After that, you can unwind in your tent. Under the vast expanse of the starry desert sky, the pulse rhythms of Berber drums and dancing around the campfire bring the desert to life after a delectable dinner.
Get up early to witness the captivating sunrise over the dunes for a wonderful start to your day. After that, have breakfast before we embark on a day of 4×4 desert exploring. Our first destination? South African-born Gnawa folklore is practiced by the people of the Khamlia. Get ready to be mesmerized by the traditional dances and lyrical sounds of Gnawa music.
The tour continues with an off-road excursion to Mifis, an enigmatic location that was once a significant mining site. Learn the secrets of this age-old eye makeup, which is frequently used as eyeliner. After that, we’ll go to see a real nomadic family and learn about their customs as they live in a handwoven tent. As you learn about their daily routine, sip on a nice cup of tea with them. After this, you can sample the tastes of Medfouna (Berber pizza) in Khamlia. Finally, end the day by retiring to your hotel. You can engage in quad biking or buggy driving in the afternoon if you’re feeling particularly daring.
Following a great breakfast, we depart from the desert. Our first visit is in Rissani, the old capital of the Tafilalet area. A thriving commercial district that comes alive every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. A typical market with spices, handcrafts, and the sound of merchants reaches out to passerby, asking them to sample their offerings.
We will then go through the Touroug and Tinjdad palm orchards on our route to the Todra Gorges. Climbers will love these imposing red rocks sculpted by the Todra River. Spend some time strolling alongside the river and taking in the breathtaking scenery. We’ll then proceed to the Dades Valley, which is home to lush meadows and red rock formations. We’ll pause for a short while to view the well-known “monkey fingers” rock formations, which have been sculpted by the wind throughout ages. After a busy day of excitement, we finally make our way to your hotel for a relaxing stay.
Today on the fourth of your 5 Days Morocco Tour, we’ll drive Marrakech via many Berber villages and cities as no doubt the first is Kalaat M’Gouna, which is famous for its annual Rose Festival held in May. Locals sell a variety of rose-based items, including rose water, oil, soap, and perfume. Following that, we’ll travel over the thousand-kasbah road, passing through Skoura’s enormous palm plantations. At its center sits the old Kasbah Amridil, a landmark of Berber architecture and heritage.
We then resume our journey, traveling past the iconic Ouarzazate till we arrive at the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. a UNESCO World Heritage Site that has used as the backdrop for numerous films, including Gladiator and Game of Thrones. We will next drive to Marrakech, across the Tizi n-Tichka pass (2260 m) over the high Atlas Mountains. Finally, we reach Marrakech by late afternoon and transfer you to your accommodation.
After breakfast on the last day of your 5 Days Morocco tour with Morocco Trip Company, your committed driver will transfer you to The Menara airport in Marrakech, where your Moroccan Tour will come to an end. We hope that the memories you made in Morocco will endure a lifetime as we say goodbye.
